Just because the summer season has come to an end, doesn’t mean that you can’t still enjoy a good old barbeque! There are many things you can do to ensure that the colder weather doesn’t dampen your spirits – or your barbeque! We’ve got five of our top tips to ensure that you still have a sizzler no matter what the weather!
Unfortunately, there is not a lot you can do about the weather, if it rains it rains, and if its cold you can’t change that. However, by adding on a few extra layers, such as a hat, scarf, jacket and wellies, you can be prepared for anything. Plus, the heat from the barbeque will also keep you toasty to some extent, as well as the warm and delicious food you will soon have to eat. This is true for outdoor events also, don’t be afraid of the outside cold, just embrace it and enjoy!
It is always good to have a plan B just in case of a bigger issue, for example, if you may be expecting rain, why not invest in a commercial gazebo to protect your precious griddle or barbeque? This can shelter your guests and your food and ensure that everything goes smoothly! Or find a suitable indoor area that you can retreat to once your barbequed delights are done, then you can still enjoy that distinctive flavouring from the marvellous cooking method, but sheltered from the elements!
Warm up with drinks
There are many hot beverages that prove to be the perfect accompaniment to barbeque food, whether you fancy something alcoholic or non-alcoholic, there is an option for everyone. So why not warm up some mulled cider or wine? Or mix up an alcohol-free alternative from grape juice or apple juice? This will warm you from the inside out, and is also very tasty! We certainly think that they will prove popular with both yourself and your guests!
Put a lid on it
If it is a particularly windy day, you may want to make sure that your barbeque has a lid on it so that the heat doesn’t escape or the have to battle the elements. Our spit roast machines come equipped with a lid to ensure that your hog doesn’t lose temperature, this ensures an even cooking process and retains the juices for a perfectly cooked pig! Or opt for our gas griddle for sale, and prepare smaller dishes that need a shorter cooking time for optimum results.
Keep it simple
Our last tip is to keep it simple, there is no need to complicate things and leave yourselves stood bracing the cold as you tactfully prepare each and every element. Pre-prepare what you can and remember, sometimes less is more. A simple hog roast, accompanied by a bap and some apple sauce is a fantastic, classic dish with always proves a popular choice. So why complicate something that is so simple for no real reason?
