Abingdon’s Highland Ballet Company are performing their latest performance of ‘The Nutcracker’ at Wolf Hills Brewin Co in Abingdon whilst offering a casual Beer and BBQ alongside the performance which is a great way of catering to the entertainment and needs of both men and women. BBQ’s are a great culinary choice that people love and will actively flock to, and you can easily buy a griddle to cater a multitude of events.
The event, which is set to take place on the 8th October is an annual fundraising event by the Ballet company. The hope for Deirdre Cole, Highlands Ballet co-artistic director, is that through a relaxed atmosphere they can show that ballet is accessible to everyone.
“There’s a misconception that ballet is elitist,” Cole stated. “Ballet is about champagne and fine dresses, fine this and that, but that’s just not the world we live in.”
Deanna Cole-Roberts, founder of Highlands Ballet, said: “It’s making ballet down to Earth, more casual.”
The hosts will supply multiple varieties of beer and Mojo’s Trailside Café & Coffee House will cater the event. Lauren Cole Band will also be creating the soundtrack to the event, with a bit of blues/ rock music. An inflatable structure will also be put up for young children to If that wasn’t enough to entertain you, there will also be opportunities to win prizes through a silent auction with gift baskets to win, that include prizes such as spa gifts. There will also be a raffle for the little ones, with something to entice people of all ages. This event is a great option for a family day out that everyone will enjoy.
