My three 'top tips' are;
1. Cover any gaps with foil for the first 40 minutes or so and this keeps all the heat in resulting in crunchy golden brown crackling.
2. Make sure your fat pot has a lid!
3. Foiling the bottom and sides of the machine makes the clean up a lot easier!
